At Kretz Lumber Company, we offer three grades of burl wood veneer. We source high-quality burls from our trusted suppliers on demand, and offer burl wood grades A-C. Part of what gives burl wood its beauty and appeal is its distinctive pattern. The more symmetry the burl pattern has, the higher the grade:
Grade A
A Grade burl wood has burled areas over 25-50% of the sheet or piece of wood. It may feature more swirls and less pins and have a more symmetrical look.
Grade B
B Grade burl wood may have more variation in color and may have some knots or other irregular structures. There will not be as many eyes as an A Grade piece.
Grade C
C Grade burl wood has a slightly more rustic or natural appearance and greater variation in color. It will typically have burl features throughout 30% of the piece.
